BANNED! [The Title of This Event Has Been Censored], a Second Story Panel

Second Story, the Loft's reading series for children's and young adult
authors, present BANNED! [The Title of This Event Has Been Censored] a
lively panel discussion of literature and censorship with authors,
educators, and librarians, featuring James Klise, Ellen Hopkins, and
Pete Hautman. Readings by the authors will follow the discussion.
James Klise is the author of Love Drugged (Flux), a Stonewall Honor
book, ALA Rainbow List selection, and a finalist for the Lambda
Literary Award. He is a high school librarian in Chicago, where he
advises the book club, literary journal and the gay-straight alliance.
His next novel will appear from Algonquin Books in 2014.
Ellen Hopkins is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Crank,
Burned, Impulse, Glass, Identical, Tricks, Fallout, and Perfect, as
well as the adult novel Triangles. Her newest title Tilt, will be
published in September 2012 by Margaret K. McElderry Books/S&S
Children's.
Pete Hautman is the author of more than twenty novels for adults and
teens, including the 2004 National Book Award winner Godless and the
time travel adventure Mr. Was. His most recent book is The Obsidian
Blade, book one of The Klaatu Diskos trilogy, published by Candlewick
Press.
