High School Assessment and Accountability: A Chance for Feedback
The Education bill that passed last month authorized the creation of a task force to develop recommendations for the next generation of high school assessments. The task force is comprised of leaders from K-12 organizations, higher education, business as well as other key stakeholders in Minnesota’s educational system. It is co-chaired by Dirk Mattson, Director of the Division of Research and Assessment, and Kent Pekel, Executive Director of the University of Minnesota’s College Readiness Consortium.
This group is inviting interested individuals to share their thoughts on some of the key issues the task force will address over the next seven months. Enter the following link in your internet browser to share your ideas with the task force: http://www.saa.umn.edu/?q=ub/survey/mn_assessment. All feedback received by July 15 will be read. The task force will release a set of preliminary recommendations in the fall of 2009 and collect another round of feedback. The Commissioner will have the group’s final recommendations by the end of December.
